Welch Leads Oklahoma to 3rd Place Finish at Seminole Intercollegiate
Rhode Island’s Patrick Welch led the #1 Oklahoma Sooners to a third place finish this weekend at Golden Eagle Country Club in Tallahassee, Florida.
Welch finished in a tie for fourth overall at seven under par, and was the only Sooner to finish inside the top ten for the tournament.
Garett Reband was the next highest finisher for the Sooners, tying for 11th place.
Florida State won the tournament, while Oklahoma State finished second.
Welch’s Final Round
After lighting it up over the first two days, Welch opened the final round with two bogeys in his first five holes.
After three straight pars, he made birdie on the par five ninth to make the turn at one over.
On the back nine, Welch parred the first eight holes, birding 18 to get to even par for the day.
