RI’s Bobby Leopold Finishes Tied for 20th at Gasparilla Invitational
Rhode Island’s Bobby Leopold finished in a tie for 20th at the Gasparilla Invitational on Saturday afternoon down in Tampa, Florida.
Leopold posted a three-day score of five-over par (215) to secure a top 20 finish.
Chip Brooke won the tournament at five-under par, beating Tug Maude by one shot.
They were were the the only two players under par for the tournament as conditions got really tough over the weekend.
Leopold’s Final Round
In tough conditions, Leopold opened with a par on the first hole before bogeying the second.
However, he got it back with a birdie on three.
The former Rhode Island Amateur Champion bogeyed the fifth and sixth holes to make the turn at two over par for the day.
He then bogeyed the tenth hole before birding 13.
He would par in the rest of the way to shoot 72 for the day.
