UPDATED: Tiger Woods Has 5th Back Surgery
Tiger Woods has had a fifth back surgery, according to Rex Hoggard of Golf Channel.
According to Hoggard, Woods had a microdiscectomy to remove a pressurized disc fragment in his back.
“I look forward to begin training and am focused on getting back out on Tour,” Woods said in a statement.
According to Rory McIlroy, Woods had the surgery on December 23, and was “back on his feet” the next day.

He is expected to miss at least the Farmer’s Insurance Touranemtn at Torrey Pines, and the Genesis Invitational.
According to Hoggard, the injury was bothering him during the PNC Championship.
