Former ESPN Anchor Trey Wingo Signs With PGA Tour LIVE

Former ESPN anchor Trey Wingo has a new job. 

Wingo has signed on with PGA Tour LIVE, according to GolfWeek. 

Wingo, 57, will call the first two rounds of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines on January 28 and 29.

“I’m excited. I love the game and loved covering the U.S. Open and the Open Championship for years. I’m thrilled to be covering golf again,” Wingo told Golfweek. 

He will call the featured groups with Billy Kratzert. 

Wingo Departs ESPN 

Wingo left ESPN near the end of 2020 after being there for 23-years. 

He was mostly known for his coverage of the NFL and the radio show “Golic and Wingo.” 

Since leaving the sports media empire, Wingo has launched his own podcast called “Half-Forgotten History.” 

Season two is expected to drop next week.
