Jhonattan Vegas Tests Positive for COVID, Withdraws from Sony

Jhonattan Vegas has tested positive for the coronavirus and has withdrawn from this week’s Sony Open. 

He is the second PGA Tour player to test positive this year, after Jim Herman tested positive last week.

“Not exactly how I had planned to start this season in the PGA Tour. Unfortunately, I just tested positive for COVID-19 and will be missing the next two tournaments. I hope I can come back stronger from this,” said Vegas in a tweet. 

Vegas will be replaced by Seamus Power. 

Vegas is currently ranked 144th in the FedExCup standings and last played at the Mayakoba Classic in December.
