Masters Delays 2021 Ticketing Process in Hopes to Have Spectators
In an effort to allow spectators to return, the Masters Tournament has delayed its ticketing process for the 2021 tournament that is set for April, according to ESPN.
The tournament is just 100 days away.
“As planning continues on how to stage the 2021 Masters Tournament safely and responsibly, we would like to inform you that Augusta National is delaying the ticket process for Patron Series Badges, which traditionally begins Jan. 1. Our intention is to communicate our decisions for the 2021 Masters to all patrons of record by the end of January. No further action is needed with your account at this time.,” said Augusta National in an email to ticket-holders obtained by ESPN.
Dustin Johnson won the 2020 Masters Tournament which was held in November without fans.
With or without fans, the 2021 Masters Tournament is expected and on track to be held during its normal April window.
Patron Series Badges
According to ESPN, Patron Series Badges are good for the four tournament rounds only, and don’t include the practice rounds.
For the 2020 tournament, the cost of a badge was $375. When the tournament was played without fans, The Masters offered to defer the badges to 2021.
Practice round tickets are distributed via lottery and are good for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. According to ESPN, those tickets were also deferred to 2021.
It is unclear what the crowd sizes, if there is a crowd, will be in 2021.
