Kerr to Tee it up At U.S. Women’s Open, Despite Rib Injuries
Despite three dislocated ribs from a golf cart accident last week, Cristie Kerr is set to tee it up at this week’s U.S. Women’s Open.
As GolfNewsRI reported, Kerr and her caddie Matt Gelczis suffered serious injuries following a golf cart accident last Friday morning at the Old American Golf Club.
“I actually played alright. Hitting it a little bit shorter today but that’s because I’m being cautious. There’s pain,” said Kerr.
There are still very few details about the accident and Kerr didn’t talk about it during the week.
Her caddie, Gelczis, is not on the bag this week. Instead, she will use her former caddie Brady Stockton.
Kerr tees off at 11:26 a.m. with Brittany Lincicome and Gerina Piller.
She is the oldest player in the field this week.
Over the course of her career, Kerr has 20 wins and two major championships.
She has earned over $19 million.
