Fowler Misses Cut at Mayakoba, Will Drop Out of Top 50
In what was a critical tournament for him, Rickie Fowler has missed the cut at the Mayakoba Golf Classic, meaning he will fall out of the top 50 in the world.
As GolfNewsRI reported, players outside of the top 50 are not invited to the 2021 Masters Tournament. Fowler is now on the outside looking in.
The cut at Mayakoba ended up being one-under, while Fowler finished at even par for the tournament.
Rickie got it to two-under at one point during the second round before going backwards on the back-9.
He needed at least a top 20 finish to stay inside the top 50.
Emiliano Grillo leads the tournament at 13-under.
