Massachusetts golf pro Tom Sullivan passed away on Wednesday night after a tree fell onto his golf cart during a storm.
According to police, neighbors in the area reported seeing a tree on top of a golf cart at Wyantenuck Country Club.
When officers arrived, they found Sullivan, 71, besides the cart.
“Today we send our condolences to the Wyantenuck Country Club family on the passing of head golf professional, Thomas Sullivan. Please join the Mass Golf family in taking a moment to celebrate his life and his commitment to the game of golf,” writes Mass Golf in a statement.
Sullivan leaves behind his wife and two kids.
Sullivan served at Wyantenuck for the last two decades
He is a winner of Northeast New York’s PGA Professional of the Year and the Roland Stafford Award.
Back in 2018, Sullivan was inducted into the NENY PGA Hall of Fame.
According to The Berkshire Eagle, Sullivan was close to retiring.
