Swafford Earns 2nd Career Win at Puntacana Resort & Club Championship
Hudson Swafford is back in the winner’s circle for just the second time in his career.
Swafford made birdie on 17 and par on 18 to win the Puntacana Resort & Club Championship on Sunday afternoon.
His last win was in 2017.
“Last couple of years on the PGA Tour have been tough, but this is why continued to get up and grind. For moments like this,” said Swafford on Twitter.
This win makes Swafford fully exempt on the PGA Tour through the 2022-23 season.
He also gets into the 2021 Masters, as well as, Kapalua, The Players and the PGA Championship next year.
Swafford started the final round two shots back of Adam Long, but played the first eight holes at five-under par to take control of the tournament.
He held a four-shot lead on the back nine, before double-bogeying the 13th hole.
Swafford then bogeyed the 16th hole and then was tied for the lead standing on the 17th tee with Mackenzie Hughes and Tyler McCumber.
On the par 3 17th, Swafford stuck it to inside 15 feet and then made the birdie.
A clutch par on 18 ended the tournament and sealed his victory.
