Johnson Named PGA Tour Player of Year, Scheffler Rookie of Year

Dustin Johnson has been named PGA Tour Player of the Year, while Scottie Scheffler was named Rookie of the Year.

Johnson racked up three victories for the 2019-20 season, including two playoff wins to help claim his first FedEx Cup title.

He also had seven top-10 finishes on the season including a second place finish at the PGA Championship.

This week, Johnson is the favorite to win the U.S. Open at Winged Foot.

Scheffler’s Season

Scheffler was one of just two rookies to advance to the Tour Championship, but did not win a tournament in his first year.

He finished fifth on the final FedEx Cup points list with seven top-10 finishes, including a tie for fourth place at the PGA Championship.

Most recently, Scheffler withdrew from this week’s U.S. Open due to coronavirus.
