From Caddyshack to the U.S. Open: Danny Noonan to Caddie at Winged Foot

Caddyshack star Michael O’Keefe, also known as Danny Noonan, will be caddying in next week’s U.S. Open at Winged Foot.

Caddyshack star Michael O’Keefe, also known as Danny Noonan, will be caddying in next week’s U.S. Open at Winged Foot.

O’Keefe will caddy for Danny Balin, the hard pro at Fresh Meadow Country Club on Long Island during his U.S. Open practice rounds on Monday and Tuesday.

“Hey, Michael O’Keefe, how would you like to mow my lawn? And when you are done, meet me a Winged Foot,” said Balin in a video posted by the USGA.

O’Keefe was formerly a caddy a Winged Foot and knows the course.

How it Went Down

O’Keefe wrote a column for Golf.com offering his caddying services at the U.S. Open for anyone that would take them.

After the USGA and famous instructor Michael Breed helped the column and the tweets go viral, Balin reached out to him.
