Rahm Edges Johnson in Playoff to Win BMW Championship

Jon Rahm dropped a 66-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to beat Dustin Johnson by one show at the BMW Championship on Sunday afternoon at Olympia Fields.

Johnson entered the final round of the tournament with the lead, but Rahm fired a bogey-free 64 to pull into a tie and force a playoff.

Earlier in the tournament, Rahm was penalized one shot for picking up his ball without marking it, as GolfNewsRI reported.

The victory is the fifth of Rahm’s career and second of this season.

He will begin the Tour Championship two shots back of Johnson.
