Newport National’s Hulme Finishes T10 at NEPGA Head Pro Championship

Newport National’s Chris Hulme finished in a tie for 10th place at the NEPGA’s Head Professional Championship on Tuesday at LeBaron Hills Country Club in Lakeville, Massachusetts.

Hulme shot a three-over par 75 to finish in a tie for tenth with Cape Cod’s Zachary Sweet and Ponkapoag’ James Burke.

Ledgemont’s Troy Pare finished in a tie for 13th, shooting a four-over 76.

The tournament was won by Wollaston’s Jeff Martin, who fired a three-under par 69 to win by one shot.

“I started hitting some good golf shots. I birdied eight, then I hit it on in two and just missed making eagle (on nine) and I just gave myself some good chances and just found it out there,” said Martin after the round.

While Martin’s win is the first Head Professional Championship on his resume, he won seven NEPGA Pro-Pro Match Play Championships at LeBaron Hills with Pare, who he played alongside on Tuesday.
