The summer of Hamilton continues.
Mike Hamilton cruised past defending champion Tom McCormick 3&2 to win the Kirkbrae Club Championship on Sunday afternoon.
Hamilton was four up after the first 18 holes and two up through 33 holes before closing the match out on the 34th hole.
The match consisted of a combined 14 birdies and an eagle.
The win continues what has been a big summer for Hamilton.
As GolfNewsRI reported, he won the RI Stroke Play event late last month and qualified for next year’s Northeast Amateur.
He also made a deep run into the RI Amateur before losing to Andrew O’Leary in the quarterfinals.
GolfNewsRI co-founder Joe Calabro lost in the divisional club championship match.
He was two up through 14 before dropping three of the next four holes to lose the match.
