Two RI Heavyweights Set to Battle for Kirkbrae Club Championship

The first 18 holes will begin around 7 a.m., with the second 18 starting around 11 a.m.

Heavyweight Battle

As GolfNewsRI reported earlier this month, Hamilton won the RI Stroke Play Championship, his first state win of his career.

That gets him into the Northeast Amateur next year.

Prior to that, Hamilton made a deep run in the Rhode Island Amateur, taking defending champion Andrew O’Leary to extra holes in the elite eight before losing.

McCormick is the defending champion, beating John Auclair in 38 holes last year.

Like Hamilton, McCormick also made a deep run in the Rhode Island Amateur, making it to the elite eight before losing to eventual champion Jamie Lukowicz.

McCormick won the RI Amateur at Kirkbrae back in 2005.

The Rhode Island Amateur returns to Kirkbrae next year.
