Strafaci, 22, will now play in three majors in 2021, including The Masters, U.S. Open and Open Championship.

The win also gets him on the U.S. Walker Cup team.

He is the fourth Georgia Tech player to win the U.S. Amateur, joining Bobby Jones, Matt Kuchar and Andy Ogletree.

The Match

Strafaci trialed Osborne as much as five-down about two-thirds of the way through the first 18 holes.

The two players put on a show, posting 14 combined birdies and a best-ball score of 60.

However, Strafaci would rally, cutting his deficit to just one down at the break.

In the afternoon, Strafaci’s putter would get hot as he nailed three putts of more than 20 feet in the first seven holes to take the lead.

Strafaci would take a two-up lead with three to play, but would lose both 16 and 17 to have the match be tied going into 18.

On the 18th hole, Strafaci hit a 230-yard four iron to 15 feet to set up the winning birdie.
