Tiger Woods Commits to Play at TPC Boston
Tiger Woods has committed to play The Northern Trust next week at TPC Boston.
The tournament represents the first round of the FedExCup playoffs.
Woods is currently 47th in the standings and will need to make a significant move in order to make it to the Tour Championship at East Lake.
It will also mean that Woods will likely be playing three straight weeks, which he has not done since 2018.
If he does in fact advance to East Lake, it will mean that Tiger will be playing four times in a five week stretch as the U.S. Open starts the week of September 14.
Tour Championship ends on September 7.
Woods This Season
Since the PGA Tour’s return, Woods has played just twice in the last six months and the results have not been great.
First, he tied for 40th at Memorial after nearly missing the cut.
He then played the PGA Championship and finished in a tie for 37th.
One positive is that Woods did shoot under par in the final round to get into red numbers for the tournament.
