Parente, Tucker Win Button Hole Four Ball

Valley Country Club’s Alex Parente and Joseph Tucker edged defending Rhode Island Amateur champion Jamie Lukowicz and Tyler Tannock to win the Button Hole Four Ball on Wednesday at Valley Country Club. 

Parente and Tucker shot a two day score of 127 (17-under) to win by two shots over Lukowicz and Tannock. 

The tournament was put on by the Rhode Island Golf Association to raise funds to repair the offices at Button Hole, which caught fire back in March.

Starting the day two shots back, Tucker opened the round with a birdie on the first hole, while Parente followed with a birdie e on the third hole to get the team to two under. 

Both Parente and Tucker made birdied on the fifth hole, while Tucker poured in a birdied on the sixth hole to get the pair to four under through six. 

On the back nine, Tucker made bogeys on the 11th and 12th holes, but was picked up by Parente who saved par. 

Parente then made birdie on 13, while both team members birdied the 14th hole. 

Tucker added a birdie on 15 and 16, and saved par on 17 while Parente made a bogey. 

Tucker closed the round with a birdie on 18 to give them the winning score.
