Rhode Island golf pros Ed Kirby and Bob Tramonti are both in contention after day one of the New England PGA Senior Championship.
Tramonti is in fifth at one-under par, while Kirby is in sixth at even par.
The leader is Salem’s Kirk Hanefeld at seven-under par.
“I just kind of bunted it along, kept it in front of me, hit most fairways and made a bunch of putts,” said Hanefeld after the round.
The final round of the tournament will take place on Tuesday at Blackstone National Golf Club.
Other RI golf pros in the tournament include North Kingstown’s Brian Owens, and Newport National’s Chris Hulme.
