Newport’s Westall & Shepherd Finish T4 at NEPGA Pro-Asst. Tournament

Newport Country Club’s Barry Westall and Dan Shepherd shot a five-under par 66 in the New England PGA’s Pro-Assistant Tournament on Monday at the Bay Club at Mattapoisett to finish in a three-way tie for fourth place.

Host professionals Greg Yeomans, PGA & John Paesani, PGA shared the victory with the Kernwood CC duo of Frank Dully, PGA & Steve Bramlett, PGA at 7-under par 64. Both teams made seven birdies without a bogey.
“Teamwork was working. Greg and I have a very good chemistry playing as partners. We trust each other tremendously and we had two balls in play most of the day,” said Paesani after the round.
Other RI Connections
Other Rhode Island pros in he field include North Kingstown’s John Rainone and Brian Owens. They finished in a tie for 7th with a score of four-under par.
Portsmouth’s Bill Andrews and Austin Brown finished three-under, as well as, Portsmouth’s Bill Andrews and Todd Prescott.
Jim Corrigan and Alex Jacobsen of The Misquamicut Club finished in a tie for 37th at even par.
