Marlborough’s Farland Wins NEPGA Tournament at Kirkbrae

Marlborough Country Club’s Greg Farland fired a 3-under par 68 to to win the New England PGA’s (NEPGA) second stroke play series event on Monday at Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln.

Brendon Ray, Robert Tramonti, Nick Jagoe, Steven Hausmann and Liam Friedman finished in a five way tie for second place. 

GolfNewsRI contributors Peter Walsh and Mike Bradshaw finished tied for 21st and tied for 55th respectively. 

Walsh had five birdies on the day.

The next NEPGA tournament is set to take place on Monday, June 22 at Wanumetonomy. 

Farland Wins 

Farland got off to a hot start, in the first six holes, he was three-under after back-to-back birdies on the fifth and sixth holes. 

He then bogeyed the long par 4 8th hole and the short par 4 tenth hole to fall back to 1-under on the day. 

Following those bogeys, Farland made birdie on the par 5 12th hole and finished off his round with a birdie not the closing hole to finish three-under.  

He made five birdies on the day.
