The PGA Tour will keep the Charles Schwab Challenge in Texas closed to the public.
This comes despite Texas Governor Greg Abbott saying that spectators would be allowed at outdoor events up to 25% of the venue’s capacity.
“The PGA Tour’s primary focus continues to be the health and well-being of all involved with our tournaments and the communities in which we play. We plan to resume play at the Charles Schwab Challenge with the event – and the three to immediately follow – closed to the general public,” said the PGA Tour in a statement.
It remains unclear if and when the PGA Tour will allow fans to attend events.
As GolfNewsRI reported earlier this week, the PGA Tour announced that the John Deere Classic will be canceled.
The tournament was scheduled to be the fifth tournament back and potentially the first one to have fans in attendance.
