McIlroy & Dustin Johnson to Face Fowler & Wolff in Charity Skins Game
The Tiger Woods – Phil Mickelson is not be the only charity golf match happening in May.
In a match that was rumored last month and confirmed on Monday, Rory McIlroy is set to team up with Dustin Johnson to take on Rickie Fowler and Matt Wolff in a skins game for COVID-19 relief.
It will take place on May 17 at Seminole Golf Club in Florida.
“It’s been difficult to witness what so many are enduring over the last several weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I hope that we can provide some respite and entertainment for those tuning in across the globe. Dustin and I will have a lot of fun together and our games will fit well as we push to raise funds and awareness on May 17,” said McIlroy in a statement.
The match will be aired on NBC, Golf Channel, NBCSN and Sky Sports from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
According to Golf Channel, officials intend to follow CDC social distancing guidelines and will take testing measures to protect the players, production crew and others on site.
No fans will be allowed.
