Olivia Williams Captures Girls Title at McCampbell Cup
La Salle star Olivia Williams captured the Girls Individual Title at the McCampbell Cup on Sunday at Rhode Island Country Club.
Williams fired a 12-over 83 to beat Barrington’s Lily Dessel by one shot and Claire McTaggart by two shots.
Williams’ Wins It
Batting chilly and windy conditions down at RICC, Williams grinded out a victory over her (friendly) high school rivals.
The defending High School Girls Champion opened with two double-bogeys on the first four holes before evening things out with four straight pars on holes five through eight.
She closed the front nine with a bogey on the ninth.
On the back side, Williams saved par on the ten and 11, before making bogey on the 12th and 13th holes.
Williams than made double on 14 and across the street on 15, before closing with pars on 16 and 17 and a bogey on 18.
