Long Time Golf Writer Steve DiMeglio Passes Away

Long time golf writer Steve DiMeglio passed away at the age of 63 this week following a two year battle with cancer. 

DiMeglio wrote for USA Today and Golfweek where he worked until 2023. 

He was diagnosed with cancer in 2022. 

“The PGA TOUR joins the golf world in mourning the loss of our friend, golf journalist Steve DiMeglio.A fixture at TOUR events for nearly two decades and beloved by players, he inspired us all with his unique perspective, humor and love of the game, even in the midst of his recent, arduous battle with cancer. In the words of our friend Steve, “Onward,” writes the PGA Tour in a statement. 

DiMeglio grew up in Minnesota where he attended Mankato West High School and then Minnesota State. 

His career began in 1994 at the Palm Springs Desert Sun, before joining USA Toady in 2000. 

DiMegliio took over as the full-time golf beat writer a couple of years later.
