URI Golf Returns to Action for 1st Time Since April 3
For the first time since April 3, the URI golf team will hit the links for a tournament.
This comes after URI had to call off its own tournament, and their appearance at the Abarta Collegiate Invitational due to a covid pause.
“Our guys were in quarantine again so we’ve lost four tournaments and wanted another before A10 Championship next week,” said head coach Gregg Burke.

URI’s season opener was also delayed due to coronavirus issues.
Rhode Island has since been cleared for action.
Tournament Time
The Rams will travel to Colgate to take part in the Upstate Spring Escape at Seven Oaks Golf Club.
The two-day tournament includes Colgate, Rhode Island and St. Bonaventure.
“Austin Fox and Bryson Richards will be on this course for a US Open Qualifier this summer and we intend to play in Colgate’s fall tournament next year so it was worth the five hour drive,” Burke added.
Teams are scheduled to play 18 holes Saturday afternoon and a second round Sunday morning, weather permitting.
This weekend’s competition serves as a final tune up for URI before the two-day Atlantic 10 Championship in Orlando on May 1-3.
