Tiger Woods is not expected to face in charges following his accident early Tuesday morning, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva.

The rollover accident has left Woods hospitalized with a broken leg and shattered ankle. He has already undergone several hours of emergency surgery.

“We don’t contemplate any charges whatsoever in this crash. This remains an accident. Accident is not a crime. They do happen, unfortunately,” said Villanueva.

Villanueva added that there was no drugs or alcohol involved, however, a test was not done.

A traffic report is being filed by Sheriff’s deputy Carlos Gonzalez, who was the first officer on site.

So What Happened

The Sheriff said that the investigation into what exactly happened would take several weeks.

We do know that Woods was traveling northbound, and the car ended up on the southbound side of the road.

According to the LA County Sheriff’s Department, “Tiger’s car traveled several hundred feet, indicating greater speed than normal. No skid marks, no indications of braking. First contact was with center median, then crossed into opposing lane, hit curb, tree, “several” roll overs.”

Police and fire were there within minutes.

The jaws of life was not used to get Woods out of the vehicle. Instead, an axe was used. Woods was pulled out through the windshield.

Woods was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center for surgery.
