Rhode Islanders Finish Strong at New England Amateur
The final round of the New England Amateur at The Woodlands Club in Maine featured strong finishes from Rhode Islanders.
One Rhode Islander, Bobby Leopold, finished inside the top 20, three Rhode Islanders finished inside the top 30 (Leopold, Kevin Silva, Jon Cooper) and Harry Dessel finished 34th.
Leopold led everyone with a T19 finish following a final round 72 to move up the leaderboard.
Silva backed up in the final round with a 77, while Jon Cooper closed strong with a 72.
Cooper made the 36-hole cut right on the number.
Dessel finished with a final round 74 to finish in a tie for 34th.
The tournament was won by Joseph Lenane, who fired a three-round score of 7-under.
