BIG TUESDAY: New England Am, U.S. Am Qualifying Underway

It is a big Tuesday for Rhode Island golfers and golf fans.
The first round of the New England Amateur at The Woodlands Club in Maine is underway.
There are a slew of Rhode Islanders playing including Rhode Island Amateur champion Bobby Leopold, runner-up Harry Dessel, Tyler Cooke, Mark Wilson, Kevin Silva, Jon Cooper and Cameron Moniz.
The New England Am is 54-holes of stroke play with a cut to low 60 and ties after 36 holes.
Over at Ledgemont, the U.S. Amateur qualifier has begun after being delayed a full day due to weather.
This event was supposed to take place on Monday.
Obviously, a slew of Rhode Islanders playing in this event including Mike Hamilton, Tom McCormick, Max Jackson, Drew MacLeod, Austin Cilley, URI star Bryson Richards, Bryant star Ty Dupuis and more.
The top two players make it through to the Amateur, while there will also be two alternates.
