Morgan MacLeod Snags Top 10 Finish at New England Women’s Amateur

Former St. Mary-Bay View star Morgan MacLeod snagged a top ten finish at the New England Women’s Amateur on Wednesday at Manchester Country Club in Connecticut.
The Merrimack rising sophomore finished at 14-over for the week, good enough for a tie for ninth.

MacLeod got better every round, starting with an 81 on the first day, 76 on the second and a final round 73 to close the tournament.
Morgan Smith won the tournament at three-under par, beating her sister Molly by one shot.
MacLeod’s Final Round
After a second round 76, MacLeod opened with three straight pars before birding the fourth hole.
She gave it right back with a bogey on the fifth hole and two more bogeys on eight and nine to turn at 38.
Turning to the back side, MacLeod birdied the tenth and 11th holes to get back to even par for the day.
Following a string of four straight pars, MacLeod bogeyed the 16th hole and then parred out for a one-over 73.
Her lowest round of the tournament.
