Morgan MacLeod Sits T21 After Round 1 of New England Women’s Amateur
Former St. Mary-Bay View star Morgan MacLeod sits in a tie for 21st after round one of the New England Women’s Amateur on Monday at Manchester Country Club in Connecticut.
MacLeod carded a nine-over 81 in round one and is tied with Cindy Cao for 21st.
Molly Smith leads the tournament at three-under.
The only other Rhode Islander in the field is Anna Gardner, who is 16-over.
MacLeod’s Round
MacLeod opened the round with a double-bogey on the first hole, followed by bogeys on three of the next four holes.
The Merrimack rising sophomore bogeyed the eighth hole to turn at 43.
On the back side, MacLeod birdied the tenth hole to get one back.
After four straight pars, she doubled the 15th hole and bogeyed the 16th to shoot 81.
