Grossguth, Petrarca Win RI Senior Four-Ball in Playoff
West Warwick’s Mike Petrarca and Rob Grossguth birdied the first playoff hole to win the Rhode Island Senior Four-Ball over Tim Murray and David Marshall on Tuesday at Crystal Lake.
The team started the day well off the lead, but played their final 11 holes at seven-under par to get themselves into a playoff.
Petrarca and Grossguth along with Murray and Marshall finished at eight-under in regulation play with matching rounds of 69 and 65.
Christopher Markiewicz and Dave McNally, as well as Carter and John Fasick finished in a tie for third at seven under, while Kirkbrae’s John Bacon and Bill Benford finished in solo fifth.
