Roller Coaster Round 1 has Chatfield in Tie for 51st at One-Under
Davis Chatfield made five bogeys and six birdies in a roller coaster first round at the Visit Knoxville Open on Thursday afternoon at Holston Hills Country Club in Tennessee.
Chatfield is tied for 51st following a one-under 69 in the opening round.
The lead is seven-under par.
Meanwhile, Will Dickson is eight-over for the tournament following a first round 78 and in last place.
Chatfield’s Round
Starting on the back nine, Chatfield made par on the first two holes, but then a bogey on the 12th.
He bounced back with a birdie on 13, before stumbling with back-to-back bogeys on the 15 and 16th holes to turn at two-over 37.
Turning to the front side, Chatfield birdied the second hole, but then bogeyed the third hole to stay at two over for the day.
Following a par on four, Chatfield ripped off four birdies in a row to get under par for the first time.
The former RI Amateur Champ closed with a bogey on the ninth hole to salvage a one-under round.
