Chatfield Scores Top 20 Finish at Lecom Suncoast Classic
Davis Chatfield scored a top 20 finish at the Lecom Suncoast Classic this week on the Korn Ferry Tour.
It was a finish that Chatfield needed to get him inside the Korn Ferry Tour reshuffle, which takes place after this tournament.
Chatfield carded a final round 69 to finish 14-under for the tournament and in a tie for 18th overall, with most of the field in the clubhouse at this point.
In his eight Korn Ferry Tour starts, this is his best finish so far.
Chatfield started the day 123rd in points and is now projected to be 84th.
Chatfield’s Final Round
The former Rhode Island Amateur champ opened with a bogey on the second hole, before settling down with three straight pars on three, four and five.
Chatfield made back-to-back birdies on the sixth and seventh holes, before giving a shot back with a bogey on eight.
He turned at even par 36.
On the back side, Chatfield bogeyed the tenth hole to go to one-over for the day and outside of the top 20.
However, he got the bounce back he needed.
Chatfield birdied the 11th hole, made another birdie at the par-5 14th hole and birdied 17 to post a 69 and sneak inside the top 20.
