Hot Start Propels Chatfield to Another 66 at Astara Chile Classic
Davis Chatfield birdied five of his first six holes en route to a second straight 66 (6-under) on Saturday afternoon in round three of the Astara Chile Classic on the Korn Ferry Tour.
With one round left to play, Chatfield now sits in a tie for 26th overall at 11-under par for the tournament.
“This guy right here, I love bragging on him. He has that kind of “it” factor and he is kind of humble and shy so he won’t tell you. But I know that it and I’ve seen it and I’ve to beat those guys on Tour that have it. And if he just get there, guys will be like wow, Chatty doing Chatty things, we call it,” said Chatfield’s caddie Scott Gump after the round.
Rico Hoey has the lead at 17-under par.
Starting on the first hole, Chatfield saved par, and then the run began.
The former RI Amateur Champ birdied the next five holes, before the run ended with a bogey on the seventh hole.
He turned at 32.
On the back side, Chatfield birdied the 11th hole and made another birdie on 14.
Chatfield closed with a bogey on 17 and a birdie on 18 to shoot his second straight round of 66.
