After Mid-Year Break, Will Dickson Set for Busy Fall Stretch
Rhode Island’s Will Dickson is gearing up for a critical fall season that includes a G Pro Tour event this week and then Korn Ferry Tour Q School.
This busy stretch comes after a needed break.
“I had a good 4-5 week break here in the middle of the year to rest up and get ready for a long fall stretch,” Dickson told GolfNewsRI.
Dickson’s break included a low-key return to Rhode Island in which he saw his parents for the first time in a few years.
He also attended a Red Sox game at Fenway and snuck in a golf round at Rhode Island Country Club.
Now, it is back to business.
Dickson is playing this week in the Augusta Open at Belle Meade Golf Course in Georgia starting on Wednesday, September 7 and ending on Friday, September 9.
“I’m playing in G-Pro even in Thompson, Georgia at Belle Meade this coming week as a warm up tournament for first stage of Q School,” said Dickson.
The first place prize is $10,000.
Following that tournament, Dickson will be heading to The Club at Irish Creek in North Carolina for Stage 1 of Korn Ferry Tour Q School.
That starts on September 13 and there will about 20 qualifying spots open at that location, according to KFT.
If Dickson continues to advance in Q School, it will last for about two months.
Getting his Korn Ferry Tour card at the end of the process would be a life changer.
