Xander Schauffele Wins Scottish Open

After being winless for over two years, Xander Schauffele has won back-to-back starts on the PGA Tour.

Schauffele held on to victory at the Scottish Open on Sunday afternoon, at The Renaissance Club in North Berthwick, Scotland to win for the second time in 14 days.

He was coming off a win at the Travelers Championship.

The Olympic gold Medalist posted a four-round score of 7-under to win by one shot over Kurt Kitayama.

“This was stressful. I’m not going to put makeup on the pig here. It was a very average day, probably my worst stuff this week. You can’t get ahead of yourself in links golf. I was ahead, behind, ahead, behind. I just kept my head down,” said Schauffele after the round.

He, along with most others in the field, will now make the short journey over to St. Andrews for next week’s British Open.
