J.T. Poston Goes Wire-to-Wire to Win John Deere Classic
J.T. Poston led from the very start to the very end and took home the trophy at the John Deere Classic on Sunday afternoon at TPC Deere Run.
Boston finished at 21-under for the tournament to beat Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Emiliano Grillo by three- shots.
“Wire to wire, having the lead for that long, it’s just hard not to think about it and think about that finish line all week. I tried to stick to the game plan, we got off to a great start and then kind of started to try and give some back, but hit a lot of good shots down the stretch,” said Poston after the round.
The win is Poston’s second on the PGA Tour and pays out just over $1 million.
It is his first win since the 2019 Wyndham Championship and earns him a spot in the British Open at St. Andrews in two weeks.
