Will Dickson in 8th After Round 1 of Mimosa Championship
Rhode Island’s Will Dickson sits in eighth place after the opening round of the Mimosa Championship at Mimosa Hills Golf Course in North Carolina.
The tournament is part of the G-Pro tour Championship series and provides increased purses.
The G-Pro Tour Championship is next week.
Dickson posted a four-under 66 and is four-shots out of first place with two rounds to play.
Tennessee’s Tom Forster leads the way with a first round 62.
Dickson’s First Round
Dickson opened with birdies on the first and second holes to quickly get to two-under par.
After four straight pars, he dropped another birdie on the seventh hole before bogeying the ninth hole to turn in 33.
On the back side, Dickson birdied the tenth hole, but then gave it back with a bogey on the 12th.
The former Moses Brown star dropped back-to-back birdies on the 14th and 15th holes, followed by a bogey on the 16th hole.
He closed with a birdie on 18 to shoot 66.
