Welch, Chatfield Tied for 45th After Round 1 at Sunnehanna
Patrick Welch and Davis Chatfield are tied for 45th after round one of the Sunnehanna Amateur down in Pennsylvania.
The two Rhode Islanders both shot opening rounds of one-over 71 to finish the day in a tie with several other players.
They tee off at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Meanwhile, former University of Rhode Island star Chris Francoeur is five over of the tournament as his second round is underway.
Bryce Lewis and Cole Anderson are currently tied for the lead at six-under.
