East Providence’s Wetmore Gets Hole-in-One in State Championship
East Providence senior Michael Wetmore made a hole-in-one during the first round of the High School Golf State Championship on Tuesday afternoon at Cranston Country Club.
Wetmore made the ace on the par-3 12th hole at Cranston which played 135 yards on Tuesday.
The ace stopped a stretch in which Wetmore went bogey, double bogey on the 10th and 11th holes.
Following the ace, Wetmore made four straight pars before closing the round with a bogey on 17 and a birdie on the 18th to shoot 76.
Wetmore is currently tied for eighth place and will make the individual cut into Wednesday’s final round.
