Sam Burns Beats Scheffler in Playoff to Win Crazy Charles Schwab Challenge

In one of the craziest final rounds in recent memory on the PGA Tour, Sam Burns dropped a 38-foot birdie putt to beat Scottie Scheffler in a playoff to win the Charles Schwab Challenge.

Burns started the day seven shots back of Scheffler, but a final round 65, combined with Scheffler’s two-over 72 put them in a playoff.

Prior to the playoff, Burns had been done and in the clubhouse for approximately two-hours.

Scheffler opened the final round with a four-shot lead over the field, but could not make birdie in the round as course conditions toughened throughout the afternoon.

This is Burns’ third victory of the season, while Scheffler remains at four.
