Patrick Welch Named to PING All-Region Central Team
Rhode Island’s Patrick Welch has been named to the PING All-Region Central Team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Sunday.
This is Welch’s fourth-selection to the team in his collegiate career.
He is also the first Sooner of the Ryan Hybl era to earn the honor in their first four years at school.
“The senior, who withdrew his name from the PGA Tour U ranking and intends to return to OU next season, posted his second career victory at the Southern Highlands. With his victory in Las Vegas, he broke the school record for best back-to-back tournament performances by signing for matching 202s (-14) at the Puerto Rico Classic and Southern Highlands,” writes Oklahoma in their press release.
This week, Welch is helping Oklahoma try and win a National Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club in Arizona.
