Narragansett Advances to State Championship After Playoff Win

The Narragansett Mariners are the latest Rhode Island High School team to clinch a spot in next week’s State Championship Tournament at Cranston Country Club.
The Mariners defeated South Kingstown and Exeter West Greenwich in a playoff on Tuesday afternoon at Point Judith to earn a spot.

The playoff was hotly contested with the Mariners posting a 131, South Kingstown posting a 134 and EWG posting a 135.
North Kingstown and Prout are the two teams already in from the South Division.
Leading Scorers
Gansett was led by Sebastian Carlson, who posted a 39 to lead all players.
Nick Biafore followed up with a 44, while brother Jake Biafore added a 49 and Rob McHugh a 48.
The South Kingstown Rebels were led by James Banks and Aidan McGrady, who shot 43 and 44 respectively.
Eison Nee and Will Schold followed up with a pair of 47s.
EWG was led by Matt Mears, who posted a 41, while Mike Mahone followed up with a 45.
Charlie Horne and Tyler Lagasse rounded out the scoring with a 46 and 49 respectively.
