Dickson Rallies to Post 2-Under After Round 1 of Crooked Cat Championship

After a three-over through four holes start, Rhode Island’s Will Dickson rallied on the back nine to post a two-under 70 in the first round of the Crooked Cat Championship at Orange Country National Golf Club on Wednesday as part of the Florida Elite Golf Tour.
Dickson is currently tied for 33rd with a slew of players, with the final round of the tournament taking place on Thursday.
“After that start being three-over through eight, it could’ve been pretty bad, but happy the way I turned it around and turned a 75 into an under-par round,” Dickson told GolfNewsRI after the round.

Florida’s Willy Pumarol is in first place after posting a first round 62 (10-under).
Dickson Rallies
Starting on the back nine, Dickson doubled the 12th hole, and then bogeyed the 13th hole to get to three-over.
A birdie on the 14th hole gave him some relief, but he would give it back with a bogey on 16.
Dickson would close his first nine holes with a birdie on the 18th hole.
That birdie would be the start of five straight.
The former Moses Brown star rattled off birdies at one, two, three and four to get under par for the first time in the round.
Following a par on five, Dickson birdied the sixth hole, before closing with a bogey at eight to post 70.
