PNC Championship Outdraws British Open

Call it the Tiger effect or maybe the Tiger and Charlie effect, but this past week’s PNC Championship outdrew this past year’s Open Championship.
According to total audience delivery numbers released by NBC, the PNC Championship averaged 2.3 million viewers over this past weekend.
Meanwhile, the 2021 Open Championship won by Collin Morikawa drew an average of 2.1 million viewers over 40 hours of coverage on NBC and Golf Channel.
The difference, Tiger and son played in the PNC Championship and did not play in the Open.
The PNC Championship marked Tiger’s first tournament back since a near-fatal car crash in February.
However, the PNC Championship was won by John Daly and his son, John Daly II.
Teams Woods finished second.
