Corrente Awarded RI Senior Player of Year
Wannamoisett’s Darren Corrente has been named the Rhode Island Senior Player of the year, the Rhode Island Golf Association announced on Friday.
This is Corrente’s second straight Player of the Year honor.
This season, Corrente finished in third at the Rhode Island Senior Amateur at Warwick Country Club.
That tournament was won by Derek Johnson.
Corrente finished in a tie for 10th at the New England Senior Amateur.
Had the second round not been canceled due to weather, he might have finished higher, maybe even won it.
Corrente also finished third in the Rhode Island Senior Stroke Play event at Alpine.
