EG’s Marcantonio Finishes 5th at New England HS Golf Championships
East Greenwich golf star Ryan Marcantonio had the highest finisher of any Rhode Island golfer on Monday at the New England High School Golf Championships at Mohegan Sun.
Marcantonio posted a 75 to tie for fifth place with New Hampshire’s Josiah Hakala, Connecticut’s Alex Elia and Massachusetts’ Reilly Fowles.
“Congratulations to Ryan Marcantonio for his t5 finish in the New England championships today in Connecticut,” writes East Greenwich golf on Twitter.
The only other Rhode Islander to make the leaderboard was Sebastian Carlson, who shot a 79.
No Rhode Island girls finished high.
This was the first year in which the New England Championships were held in the fall.
Massachusetts’ Joey Lenane won the boys division with a 70, while MA’s Lillian Gulleserian won the girls division with a 73.
