Tiger’s College Teammate Casey Martin has Leg Amputated

Tiger Woods’ college teammate Casey Martin had his right leg amputated on Friday after fighting through a rare circulatory disease his entire life.

Martin, who is the head golf coach of Oregon, suffers from Klippel-Trenaunay-Weber syndrome, which restricts circulation in the lower portion of his right leg and make it nearly impossible for him to walk 18 holes.

Despite this painful disease, Martin earned his Tour card in 200.

Then, in 2001, Martin successfully sued the PGA Tour, allowing him to use a cart when he plays Tour events.

He qualified for the 2012 U.S. Open and played a practice round with Tiger.

Martin broke his right leg two years ago.
